PPCP has extensive experience in creating suitable patterns for Investment Casting using 3D printers. The filament choice is crucial in creating a pattern that can be a suitable replacement for the wax patterns traditionally used in the “Lost Wax Method of Investment Casting.” Customer designs and files can be printed using our Prusa 3D printers. Files of choice are Step files (.stp), Solidwork files (.sldprt), or .stl files. The ability to go directly to a pattern that can be employed in our processes eliminates the need to build expensive permanent tooling in some cases. At a minimum it allows designers of parts to get a tangible sample in hand to test and prove prior to building permanent tooling.
