Fusible alloys are low melting point (less than 450ºF) metals that can be cast for specialized applications. Bismuth, lead, tin and other metals comprise this group of alloys that typically have good thermal conductivity and other properties that are ideal for many everyday items, like fire sprinklers and temperature relief devices, as well as electronic devices, laboratory equipment and complex aerospace components. Rose’s Metal, Cerrosafe and Field’s Metal are just three of the common fusible alloys. A foundry professional or metallurgist can provide assistance.
