A critical step in the production of investment castings is the ability to have traceability of the master heat the castings were poured in. This is done by marking the castings with the heat number in which the foundry poured the metal. PPCP maintains years of historical data about the chemistries and mechanical attributes of the steel we pour. Castings are marked using peening machines that make the heat numbers legible and readily accessible should heat data be needed. Traceability is a true hallmark of an effective Quality System.
