Investment Casting Sprues

Dec 31, 2014

One of the efficiencies of the investment casting process is utilization of sprues. Sprues create a tree-like structure of multiple wax patterns called a pattern assembly. This pattern assembly makes it possible to make multiple parts from one pour of molten alloy. The number of parts per pattern assembly is primarily dependent on the size of the individual parts. After cooling, the parts are cut off the sprue leaving each part ready for finishing.
