Among the many advantages of investment casting is surface finish quality. With the investment casting process, parts come out of the mold with an excellent surface finish. The precise tooling, lost-wax mold-making and use of molten alloys achieves finishes that are typically in the 125 RMS range. This quality of surface finish meets or exceeds the requirements of many parts and applications with little or no machining or end-of-process finishing. In addition to producing high-quality, consistent parts, it is cost effective, especially in large and repeated runs.
