When producing a wide variety of parts and components, companies can often avoid waste with investment casting. As a near-net-shape production process, investment casting manufactures parts that have almost exactly the same geometries as the finished components. This is achieved by utilizing ceramic molds that are filled with molten alloys. Once hardened, the molds are broken away, leaving casting that require little or no machining. This saves time, money and waste product, which is good for business and the environment.
