It is common for manufacturers to choose investment casting for complex parts. It is an excellent option for components with geometries that would be difficult or even impossible to achieve with other processes. In investment casting, molten alloys are poured into molds that are nearly the exact shape of the desired castings. This enables the alloys to freely flow into complex geometries. It then cools into one continuous piece, requiring very little or no machining. Other processes often require extensive finishing work and still get an inferior result.
