Investment Casting for Short Runs

Nov 17, 2020

While long runs are typically the most cost effective, investment casting for short runs can also be an excellent option, depending on the part, application and other factors. In many cases, parts with attributes that can be best achieved by investment casting justify, and possibly even require the investment. This can be true when extremely accurate, high-quality parts are necessary for applications that require top-grade performance and precision. Producing exceptional surface finishes with little or no finishing work can also call for the near-net-shape process of investment casting. In the larger scheme of things, investment casting can be the best and often the most cost-effective choice for short runs.
