While costs may be somewhat higher than other alloys, stainless steel investment casting is an excellent process for valves, pump and other specialized applications where corrosion resistance, durability and long-term reliability are essential. Stainless steel is also very well suited for the investment casting process, where complex geometries and highly precise parts are needed. In long-term, repeat runs, the additional cost of stainless steel can be offset in many cases.
